Charity Leadership Training
Building Stronger Futures Through Leadership in Complex Environments
At Mojo Coaching, we specialise in charity leadership development training designed for the realities of NGOs and non-profit organisations.
Leaders in these environments face challenges that go beyond technical skills: limited resources, cultural complexity, and constant change. What makes the difference is resilience, confidence, and the ability to inspire others. Strong leaders create ripple effects that strengthen teams and communities.
Our approach is rooted in real-world knowledge and informed by over 20 years of experience across corporate, humanitarian, social care and health sectors.
How Our Charity and NGO Leadership Training Works
We don’t believe in off-the-shelf training. Every programme is context-specific and co-created with national leaders to ensure immediate relevance.
Our services include:
Workshops: immersive, practical, and tailored to your context - both in person and online
Coaching: individual or group coaching to embed learning
Diagnostics: using tools such as the Enneagram and Leadership Circle 360
Programmes: multi-module journeys that improve long-term leadership skills
Peer Learning: creating networks that bring sustainable development
Case Study: Save the Children, South Sudan
When Save the Children sought to strengthen national leadership in South Sudan, we designed a pilot programme for 23 local leaders.
The challenge: Support the nationalisation of leadership in a complex, resource-constrained environment.
Our approach:
Collaborative design with national leaders for ownership and relevance
Context-specific coaching and training focused on immediate application
A blend of resilience-building, communication skills, and strategic thinking
The impact: Leaders left the programme with greater confidence when engaging government officials, enabling them to represent their organisations more effectively. They became stronger role models within their communities, inspiring others to step forward. For many, leadership shifted from being a position of authority to being a tool for national rebuilding and positive social change. Most importantly, the benefits didn’t stop with the 23 participants. The impact rippled outward, strengthening their teams, their organisations, and the wider systems they were part of.
As one participant put it, leadership became less about position and more about influence, vision, and service.
Outcomes of Our NGO Leadership Training
In our NGO leaders training, successful leadership begins with resilience and confidence. Participants learn how to ground themselves in uncertain environments, staying composed and purposeful even when resources are limited and the pressure is high.
Equally important is the ability to inspire and unite teams under pressure. Through both coaching and practice, leaders develop the skills to build trust, bring people together, and keep their teams focused on a shared sense of purpose. This shift in culture strengthens not only the individuals but also the wider organisation.
Communication is another critical outcome. Leaders gain clarity in articulating vision and learn to influence a wide range of stakeholders, from community members to government officials.
Our programmes also emphasise working through difficult situations with creativity and compassion. Leaders are encouraged to approach challenges not as obstacles, but as opportunities to adapt and innovate. This blend of head and heart ensures they can guide their teams through difficult moments with empathy as well as decisiveness.
Finally, participants leave with a stronger ability to think strategically about leading and developing others. They see leadership as an ongoing practice, not a one-off skill, and understand how to nurture the next generation. This ensures that the impact of training extends far beyond the individual, creating long-term sustainability for the future.
